Department of State as a sponsor for the J-1 Exchange Program.
We are authorized to administer and monitor J-1 exchange visitors from foreign countries during internships and training programs with American host companies.

Increase mutual understanding between people of the United States and people of the world through person to person exchanges.

Provide valuable career training opportunities to future industry leaders from around the world.
POSITION DESCRIPTION As a J-1 Compliance Officer, you will assist in reviewing, filing, and updating SEVIS information and databases for participants of our exchange programs.
You will be well versed in the rules and regulations of the J-1 exchange program as well as the internal regulations and protocols of Odyssey International Exchange.
This position reports to the Director of Compliance and the Compliance Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Study and learn the rules and regulations of the J-1 Intern and Trainee programs Study and learn the rules and regulations of Odyssey International Exchange as they pertain to its administration of J-1 exchange programs.
Update information in proprietary and government databases (SEVIS), and Odyssey databases.
Review documentation for accuracy and thoroughness as instructed Coordinate with Odyssey's network of partners across the country and around the world Review, process, and submit application for SEVIS batching.
Issue and send out SEVIS generated DS7002 for E-Signature.
Monitor on-going applications Monitor SEVIS alert and send notification email to corresponding partners.
Update Changes on SEVIS for program dates and program information when needed, or per partner's requests.
DS2019 issuance and shipment preparation Other tasks as needed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS All applicants must possess the following:
At least 2 years of professional work experience in an office setting Bachelor's Degree or higher (preferably in international relations, policy, studies or related fields) Excellent formal writing and speaking skills Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite A keen interest in cultural exchange An understanding of the challenges faced when visiting or integrating into a foreign culture Team player and able to work under pressure Interested applicants should provide a cover letter explaining their qualifications and interest in the position PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous work experience in J-1 exchange programs or other exchange programs Previous work experience or understanding in using SEVIS Previous experience in a role which required document reviewal, data entry, administrative work Second language skills BENEFITS Medical and dental insurance 401(k) after one year of employment Vacation and Sick Leave Job Type:
